Biography

I was born in St. Lambert Quebec on May 27th 1964. A small town (at that time) Just outside Montreal. I soon moved to Ottawa as my dad took a job at the newly established Canadian National Railway Telecommunication division. I have lived in Ottawa since then to this day. My dad was a dedicated shutter bug from the 1950's to the late 1970's. Using his own dark room and equipment, he managed to take a lot of grate pictures. I caught the itch in grade school when I got a bulky Polaroid. It was a beast to load, use and pull the damn picture out. Later I got one of those instimatics you could put in your pocket. In High school I took a multi Media class and got a cheap Practika 35mm film camera. There I learned the use of film and dark room equipment. Man getting raw film developed in pitch blackness, oh what fun. I got this as a birthday present. It came with a regular lens a zoom lens, flash and bag. Again this one was not easy to use. It had a problem grabbing the film as you loaded it. A lot of times I would up taking multiple images. Unfortunately nothing remains of the pics I took with it. Later in the late 80's it was stolen. That sucks. For a long time after I didn't do any photography. In 2005 after my dad passed away, I bought a HP 5 Mgp point and shoot I found real cheap in a pawn shop. I took some pics with that and over all it's not a bad little camera. I had taken a drawing class and had the idea of doing art so I bought a lot of supplies. But after I found I did not care for it. Although I was not that bad at it the photo bug had gotten back under my skin and I craved a camera with more UMPFF! So during a flurry of spring cleaning I found a ton of stuff and all my art supplies and DVD movies and Cd's I was not using anymore I listed on the web and sold a lot. But what really kicked ass was I was contacted by a guy who was interested in my Point and shoot because he was getting rid of his DSLR because it was too complicated to use! How perfect is that? So for a trade of my camera and some cash I got his Canon EOS Rebel! Sweet! Also from him I bought a Canon 75-300mm Zoom a steal at $150. From here on in I'll be collecting the rest of what I need. I have taken some pics but not many and not of any importance so far.
